Step 1 - Become Credentialed
The Arkansas Pharmacists Association hosted a virtual webinar on how to become credentialed for clinical services on Thursday, March 30, 2023. Dr. Maddison Schuller, PharmD spoke on the first steps to take in becoming credentialed with Arkansas Blue Cross Blue Shield. This webinar is the first steps in a process that can take 30 to 60 days to finalize. APA's goal is to give a jumpstart on this process, provide documents and information, and provide more workshops.

Network Development Representative (NDR) - You must contact your region's NDR to begin the credentialing process. Use the map below to determine your NDR. 

Step 2 - Enroll with Availity 
On May 3, 2023, Dr. Madison Schuller, PharmD guided participations through the necessary steps in register for Availity. Enroll in the Availity portal to check patient insurance eligibility and process claims.

Step 3 - Attend a Medical Billing Bootcamp

The bootcamp will offer 4.0 hours of live continuing education by providing an overview of what we have done so far with medical billing, hands-on-training, and an opportunity to ask questions. Pharmacists, pharmacy technicians and other pharmacy staff who will be part of the medical billing process are encouraged to attend.

These knowledge-based activities will provide pharmacists up to 4.0 contact hours or 0.4 CEU. CE credit information, based on verification of live attendance and completion of the program evaluation, will be provided to NABP within 60 days after the activity completion.
